Christmas Dinner Menu

December 21, 2011 — 8 Comments

Since it is almost Christmas I figured I should do a blog post about food. Jen and I have already had 8 Christmas get together between work, family, and friends, and we still have a few more! This doesn’t contain my grandma’s squash recipe though, this is a list of the different animals I have eaten over my lifetime!

With a few that may surprise you!

Land: Cow, Pig, Horse, Moose, Bear, Deer, Rabbit, Lamb, Emu, Kangaroo

Air: Chicken, Turkey, Quail, Goose, Duck

Water: Many types of fish (Haddock, Catfish, Pollock, Sole, Tilapia, Tuna, Salmon, Bass, Trout, and others I am sure), Crab, Shrimp, Lobster, Eel, Mussels, Frog, Alligator

I will update the list if I think of any others. I hope you enjoy Christmas dinner! Merry Christmas!

Which is the most shocking? Any others you recommend I try?

  1. I’m curious … what do emu and kangaroo taste like?!?

    • When I had the Emu it was a burger, so it just tasted like ground meat. The kangaroo I had was dried meat similar to a pepperette, so it tasted really good!

  2. great idea for a post, love it!!

my fish list is pretty long, but i need to add more birds.

my least favorite is sheep, as in Bahamian sheep’s tongue soup (tasted good, but didn’t agree with me and i got very sick!)

  3. Interesting name “emu” what does it look like? Have you ever tried ostrich? or snake? (I haven’t just curious if you had)
The horse meat is the most shocking to me.
Eel, octopus, squid, frog, alligator I can’t imagine them tasting good.
I do love shrimp, lobster, mussels, crab. I’ve eaten rabbit before too.
Kudos to you Stephen for developing adventurous taste buds mine are pretty conservative. :0)

  4. This is an intense list, Steve! I like that you have multiple posts now on food… we could get along :) Merry Christmas!
