Change is difficult, but a necessary part of life, the only way for us to grow is for us to change! The past few months have been a great period of growth for Jen and I, but no matter how hard it got we persevered, because we knew if we stuck together and supported each other we could get through anything! Unfortunately it has caused me to neglect you (the readers) over the past month, but I hope you forgive me because I have a bunch of stories to share with you!
I am excited to share with you stories from our Uganda trip, as well as pictures and videos! First let me start by explaining how we got on the trip in the first place. Jen and I have volunteered with Compassion Canada for four and a half years as Advocates. Our role with Compassion has been attending events, and doing presentations to talk to people about what Compassion does.
We have been to concerts, churches, conferences, and I have spoken at a church as well, the goal of these events is to spread the word about Compassion and find sponsors for children and share with others the different programs run by Compassion.
In November we got and email saying that there was a trip to Uganda coming up and there were still a few spots left, it came in on the Friday and I looked at the cost, knew we didn’t have the money and left it at that. Jen also got the email but it resonated a bit more with her.
That Sunday after church Jen looked at me and said “We need to go to Uganda.” She felt it impressed on her really strongly during the service, we knew it was a message from God saying “Get on that trip!”
When Jen told me that, I was not surprised, it felt right, so I said “Ok, I will send an email and get us on that trip!” Sure enough we got two of the last four spots. We knew right from the start that we were supposed to be on the trip and the finances would be taken care of, but I will save that part for my next post!
Have you ever had a similar experience hearing from God?
(Let me know in the comments below)

So excited to hear about it. Uganda has been on my heart too.
I am excited to share the stories, and I think I am definitely at a point now where I will be able to!
