Pats vs. G-Men

Well it is that time of year again, a time for endless buckets of hot wings, chili and playoff beards. It is a time when allegiances crumble and band wagons become the prefered method of transportation. This year Superbowl 46 is between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. Both are storied franchises with deep traditions, and let me tell you, it is going to be a good one, here is my prediction!

First of all, let me inform you that I am a New England fan, but I am going to try to remain unbiased as I bring you my preview of the game!

Both teams deserve to be playing in this game! The Giants took out a very skilled Packers team by getting back to basics and marching down the field and putting points on the board. The Patriots finished top of their conference and beat a hot Tim Tebow and a stingy Baltimore defense to earn their spot in the finals.

The Giants have a big D-Line that will definitely put pressure on Tom Brady. Eli Manning, even though he may not be considered Elite, is a good quarterback with a Superbowl ring that he won against the Patriots.

The Patriots also have a big D-Line that is able to pressure QBs. They have some experienced Linebackers in Mayo and Ninkovich and the secondary, while young, have been playing really good team defense of late.

The real difference comes on offense. Tom Brady has more weapons than 4 years ago. Brady can throw to Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Branch, Ochocinco, Edelman, Tate, Green-Ellis, or Woodhead. No matter what formation the Patriots are in the have at least 3 or 4 excellent receivers at their disposal.

My Prediction:

It will be an extremely close game but I think the Patriots will win 38-31.

Your Prediction:

Who do you think will be holding the trophy after the final whistle?
