Yesterday in the mail I received my HST credit cheque, for those who don’t know what that is, it is a cheque from the Government of Ontario to “help Ontarions through the transition”. This was my third of three cheques from the government. The transition they are talking about is the switch from having GST and PST to now having one sales tax called the HST. This new sales tax is the same percentage, but it applies to more things than the old taxes did.

Don’t get me wrong I love when the government sends me money, but they just get it back in taxes anyway. So it made me think, why does the government feel they have to pay me to make this “transition” easier. If they HST was actually better for Ontarions, they wouldn’t have had to bribe me with money. Makes me wonder who benefits more from this new tax!
